I will be in Miami on business next week and would appreciate some recommendations on a good non chain steakhouse. I know that capital grille is ranked very high, but we have one in Atlanta and would prefer to go somewhere that we could not normally visit. with regards to budget, the sky's the limit.

  1. I'd recommend Christy's in Coral Gables (approx. 15 minutes from downtown Miami) – an institution here in South Florida, with excellent steaks and excellent service.

    1. You can try Graziano's (in Coral Gables and another location further west). It's Argentine and the cuts are a little different. The beef isn't dry aged or anything, but they know how to grill it. Also, there's Porcao, a Brazilian rodizio (I believe there's similar ones in Atlanta). It's so-so but the location is right on the water.

      1. And forgot Prime 112. Ludicrously expensive (on South Beach).

        1. In no particular order.

Tuscan Steak - Best steak in sobe - is not traditional steakhouse though
Forge - Very good steak, definitely traditional steakhouse
Prime 112 - The food is great, the steak is not.
Grazianos - Argentinian style. Bird Rd location is better than CG. One of my favorite restaurants. Don't forget to get the ducle de leche crepes here. Many consider the Bird rd location to be the best argentinian steakhouse in the US btw. I have not had better myself....

          1. I was at Christie's fairly recently and was disappointed. I think the best call in here is to do an Argentine steakhouse like Grazianos and get some local flavor.

Is the caesar salad at Christy's still as good as it used to be?

            2. I think I had a caesar with steak over it for lunch and was underwhelmed on both fronts. They weren't bad, just weren't nearly as good as I recalled and would not be likely to go back.
