Timeout Chicago's Top 100 Eats

Did anyone see this article at the end of December? It listed the top 100 foods to eat in Chicago, and just reading it made me hungry. I'm leaving the country in a month but have made it my personal mission to eat at least 25 of the top 100 things in the city. 5 down, 20 to go...

  1. Which 5 have you eaten at? Have you enjoyed them all or were you disappointed?

    1. Is there a link for the list? Can you please post? Thanks!

      1. The article was entitled "The 100 best things we ate (and drank) this year". Since such articles include only what they reviewed in the past year, they have a tendency to be primarily restaurants that opened during the past year. Thus, they are not necessarily the 100 top foods in Chicago.

The article appeared in their December 28-January 3 issue. You can find it on their website at (there are five separate web pages for each 20 things).

My goal is to try the best new restaurants for 2006 according to Chicago Magazine, although I'm still working on the best for 2005. You can find both articles on the Chicago Magazine website at (click on DINING). So far I've hit 3 of 26 for 2006, and 2 of 18 for 2005. So many places to try...

          1. A similar list was compiled by Pat Bruno of the Sun-Times, of the "50 wonderful tastes of 2006 that you simply must try in 2007":
