best value pizza on the westside

I need to order a lot of pizza for a party near Pico and Westwood. I want to order good food, but don't want to go broke in the process. What are your thoughts for good choices for quality/price ratio? Delivery is a plus. Any suggestions would be helpful...

  1. Without a doubt, Lamonica's up by UCLA on Gayley. Big 17 inch pies in the $11-16 range that are on a lot of people's top five. And they probably deliver to you.

and!!! on monday's, lamonica's has a 2 for 1 special. not sure if they deliver though.

    2. Or Santa Monica Pizza Kitchen on 14th and Wilshire, though I don't know if they deliver to Pico/Westwood.

      1. Lamonica's definitely delivers. Pico may be a bit far from its core UCLA/Westwood Village clientele, but for a large enough order... Besides the 2 for 1 offer on Mondays, they have coupons in the Daily Bruin for large 2-topping pizzas with a liter drink for $12.95, including tax, maximum 3 per address.

There was also some discussion about a month ago about the New York Pizza in the minimall on Santa Monica Blvd. and Sepulveda. They also deliver.

These might be a buck or two more costly than Dominos/Hut/Papa John's, but MUCH better.

        1. thanks for all your help!

          1. Don't know if it's too late or within the price range you had in mind but Abbot's Pizza on Pico - I think around the 1800 block in Santa Monica, right across the street from Santa Monica College - has great pizza that comes in pretty large pies or you can buy it by the slice... Lots of unique variations. A couple of my favorites would be the Popeye's Chicken Pizza (nothing resembling the Fried Chicken Chain) and the Wild Mushroom Pizza. They even have a vegetable pizza - with or without cheese - for vegetarians and vegans. Their salad-on-a-pizza is a lunch in itself. Their original place is on Abbot Kinney in Venice, thus the name... I know you're talking about West LA, but I would personally drive the extra 10 minutes - OK maybe 20 depending on traffic - for their pizzas... Lamonica's is great too although I personally haven't eaten there in a while - been too hooked on Abbot's...
