  1. The bakery next to OPA (the greek gyro restaurant) - take the N/W train and get off at 30th Avenue. Their spinach pie is very nice.

      agreed 100% It's called Ya Ya's.

    2. There are 2 kinds at Titan, one that is flatter and square and one that is cut into pie shape pieces..this is the better one. There is also decent spinach pie pastry like at Artopolis.

      1. My favorite spinach pie in Astoria comes from a tiny storefront on 23rd Avenue between 31st street and 29th street. It's one or two storefronts in from the corner (same side as Telly's Taverna is). The name of the place escapes me. I like the country-style one he prepares most. It's round, and should be eaten hot (and fresh). It's absolutely delicious when it's fresh -- not leftover from the previous day. I've had it when he refrigerates it, blech...not the same. He also makes the standard, and in my opinion, pedestrian *square* one. That one is good too, but, the *round* rustic one is better. : ) Both pies are sold by the piece. (Or whole, if you let them know in advance.) Weekends are the best time to go -- freshest then.
