If you know of an attractive, intimate space, possibly a private room for a book group with the author in Manhattan. I was thinking something with an exotic twist, oysters? mid range to a little pricey.Approximately 10 people. Many thanks, new to Chowhound.

Upstairs balcony is relatively intimate. French, retro and hip. They have oysters. Very accommodating. If you want truly excellent food or need a quieter space, probably not for you, though.

Many thanks got yout suggestion. My mother is member of the Lotos Club through the Cosmo Club in D.C. I will check this out. I've been for drinks and the Club is lovely.
