Olives (the store)?

I came across reviews of Olives (or Olive's, not sure) in Long Beach on, was wondering if anyone had been there and if its worth going to Long Beach for, in terms of price/quality/etc?

  1. Hello, missholmes! This is just a wild guess, but are you referring to:

During the holidays we received some of their Premium Balsamic Vinegar of Modena (8.5 fl.oz. for $27, Item #4821). It is worthy of pouring into a glass and drinking! It pours like a syrup, and it has a very rich, deep taste -- like nothing I have ever tasted before!

They have several stores around town, one at the Grove, I think, and others at the malls (Thousand Oaks?). If you go into the store, you can taste many of their items. I hope this helps????

    1. This might be it as well. If anyone has been I am curious as well.

kat_dew -- Your location for this Olives Grocer that you found is right-on, because the poster has specifically mentioned Long Beach! (With the olive store that I mentioned above, I was really taking a was the only thing I could come up with...)

But I haven't been to the grocery store, Olives Gourmet Grocer, and I'd love to hear from someone who has!

Yup! That is the place! I used to go there all the time when I lived in the area! It was a GREAT addition (That and all the little wine shops in the area too! :))

I mostly went there for Cheeses, they had a great selection of Boars Head too. Italian Pastas, various cookies, and other little unique ingredients. I would call them a Mini Market Gourmet.

They also have a lot of carry out options, but they are a bit pricy and not as good as I've had in other places (They had a cranberry tuna that looked like the WF version, but the balance was off) and their Sandwiches are not that great for the price.

All in all, a nice stop when you are looking for a special ingredient or an idea on what to make. :)
