Coming in from New England & Taking my mother and sister and their Long Island brood for an afternoon show at the Irish Rep on W22 betw 6th&7th this Sat.

group is made up of foodies + 2 kids ( 9 & 13) - kids are not adventuresome, but will eat if it isn't moving.

Any suggestions in that general area?

Interested in most anything exc std NYC American fare - no seafood grill, pizza, deli, std chinese, etc
OK on :Nice Italian, Middle Eatern, Eastern European, German, Irish/Eng style pub, ...

Any creperie or fondue places left in the city - if so, that might be an option for both us and the kids

  1. La Bonne Soupe, on 55th St., b/t 5th & 6th Avs., is a pleasant, family-friendly French bistro with lots more on the menu than just good soups, including fondues.

For Italian near the theater, Le Zie is on 7th Av., b/t 20th & 21st Sts. I've not been, but it's very popular with many Hounds.

      Looked at the menus
      Both read nicely
Like the La Bonne - - has some fondue which I think might be fun for the kids!

Le Zie might not be best for 7.

Grand Sichuan International on 24th and 9th oven has family groups. Excellent Szechuan food (although they do have Chinese American items for the less adventurous).

        R.U.B., BBQ on 23rd between 7th & 8th can handle 7, I think.

There is a Persian restaurant called Pars on (I think) 27th St. between 7th & 8th. None of their food moves.

You might also like the old style Spanish Restaurant, El Quijote also on 23rd between 7th & 8th.
