Chinatown at Midnight on a Friday Night

hiddenboston Jan 9, 2007 05:20 PM

Where should I go? I know Chinatown pretty well as far as dinnertime meals go, but I haven't done late-night Chinatown dining since the days of JJ Foley's followed by cold tea (about 10 years ago).

Midnight at Jumbo Seafood is like dinner-time at a regular restaurant. Good food, busy, fresh seafood, and the new ownership (now owned by former employees) hasn't shifted the quality although I think they added some techno-music in the background last time I was there.

I agree with Prav - Peach Farm is where it's AT. One of my favorites in CT anyway, and its open real late.
They do get a late night crowd (mostly asians, not the drunken white kids; except me of course!)

Grand Chau Chow is open even later than that.

Ginza has gone downhill at that location, in my opinion. Was very unimpressed with the quality of the fish at dinner time, so I personally would not play sushi roulette at the midnight hour.

I can second the Grand Chau Chow for chow that is at least fresh.

I don't particularly like sushi anyways, so I won't be going there. I like the idea of Grand Chau Chow, though my buddy who's coming up from VA is a huge Jumbo Seafood fan. Maybe we'll hit both!
