decent espresso in the Toronto 'burbs?

Where can I get a decent espresso in (hold your laughter) Scarborough or Markham?

I'm not too optimistic, judging by this thread - http://www.chowhound.com/topics/102358 - but if there's a slim chance that someone has a Chowfind, I'd be grateful to hear about it.

  1. Not impossible... it might not be the same but they do exist.

The only spot that really comes to mind is Symposium (on Steeles west of Warden). Expensive, but I recall it being a good spot to hang out in.

Take a look in Unionville, is there anything around there? Also, maybe there is something in the Asia Pacific Mall?

The other thing you can always try is going to a Vietnamese restau and trying the coffee there. It won't be the same, I will admit, but the hot vietnamese coffee (with sweeted condensed milk) REALLY packs a punch!

    Good luck!

I second the vietnamese coffee - both the hot and cold versions are great!

    2. I haven't been in a long time but I seem to recall a decent esspresso at Remezzo's which is at Warden & Steeles

      1. Thanks. I've never tried Vietnamese coffee, nor gone to Remezzo's (which is conveniently within walking distance of my neighbourhood!) but will give it a shot - no pun intended.

I think Remezzo is at Warden & Sheppard in the plaza on the South West corner.

I think you're right, I think I got it wrong, it's Sheppard not Steeles
