I'm looking for a local upscale but not too upscale (no chains) restaurant with excellent service as close as possible to the following address:

2900 Brunswick Pike, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648

I would like to give a gift certificate. Food type might be continental, American or Italian? Maybe a delicious steak house?

Lawrenceville Inn is fantastic, and close by. Blue Point Grill, Mediterra, and Acacia (I wouldn't put it in the "too upscale category) are other nice ideas. All but Mediterra are BYO...

Not sure what your limit for "too upscale" is. I've heard Acacia is excellent, but menu seems on the upper end:
