Help - I've got a serious noodle craving! (San Diego)

San Diego Hounds I need your help. I've got a terrible craving for Chinese-style noodles, but other than making them myself I don't know where to get them. What I have in mind is: thick, chewy noodles bathed in a sauce containing garlic, chiles, and sesame oil. Does anyone know of a place that has anything close?

There is a great tribute to the inventor of the RAMON noodle in the Tuesday News York Times opinion section. A must read.

your best bets are Ba Ren, Spicy City and Dumpling Inn. I'd try Ba Ren first--the best for spicy food out of the three. Go to KirkK's blog, the best blog for Asian food in SD.

Thanks daantaat. I've heard about Ba Ren and it's on my list of places to try. Could you give me the address for KirkK's blog? I've got a couple of blogs bookmarked, but I don't think that's one of them.

Here's a link to one of Kirk's Ba Ren posts. He elsewhere describes a spicy noodle dish (dan dan noodles?) that sounds exactly like what you are looking for.
