Anyone eaten at Reata in Ft. Worth, Texas?

I will be in Ft. Worth shortly. Has anyone tried Reata? What was your experience?

  1. I've eaten at the Reata in Alpine which is the same as the one in Ft. Worth. Food is fabulous but a little pricey. Well worth it.

    1. I think Reata is over rated overall. I would sugeest Lanny's for similar $$ or Taverna for good/nice/inexpensive Italian....Good luck, Mike

      1. Reata is a good Texas style restaurant. As you well know, you can get a little Tex Mex, Chicken Fried Steak, Seafood or Steaks. The downtown location has very ecletic decor, and good service. I've never had a bad dinning experience there. And it is perfectly located in the Sundance Square, so that leaves you with many after dinner options.

P.S. If you haven't tried them; I highly recommend the cheddar grits.

        1. We ate there for our anniversary last month, and we were very impressed. The appetizer sampler for 2 was HUGE! Our favorites were the tenderloin tamales and the smoked quail on a bed of cheddar grits. I had the pepper crusted tenderloin entree. The meat was great, but the pepper really overpowered the flavor. Hubby has the signature ribeye, which was excellent! The mashed potatoes and green beans were both good. We shared the dessert tacos, which were excellent. I especially liked the strawberry salsa! Service was just perfect! Although it was pricey, we will definitely go back!
