It sounds as though you don't know that Blue Water Grill has been around for a long time. I've always had good meals there. Not mind-blowing, but well-prepared and tasty. Servers are friendly and competent. The large interior space, which used to be a bank, has very attractive decor, and the vibe is upbeat.

Blue Water is ok, but nothing special. They do have a really attractive private room in a vault downstairs if you're looking to host a reasonably tasty and reasonably priced private dinner, but otherwise I wouldn't bother.

As previously said, Blue Water Grill is good, not outstanding. Fresh fish, competently prepared but no awards. Barca 18 is actually much better for what they do - tapas. Just around the corner is the Union Square Cafe which is absolutely stellar - even after all these years. Almost impossible to get a table without a reservation weeks in advance but you can get there early and eat at the bar.

I loved my experience at blue water grill. The seafood was really fresh and good. I was in the downstairs lounge where there is live jazz music. The service was okay, but the food more than made up for the waitress that was just there because she was cute!

i've been to the blue water grill with friends for drinks/light appetizers as well as for several dinners. i think we even had a christmas eve and an easter dinners there way back. definitely a nice setting. service is good enough. food is enjoyable. it never blew me away but it was good enough to recommend. perhaps my opinion is biased b/c i had always gone there with the same group of very dear friends.

I haven't been there for a while, mostly because I always thought that it was totally mediocre. It always surprises me when I see it recommended on Chowhound.

Blue Water Grill is fabulous. Beautiful space, good service and everything I've eaten there has been delicious and beautifully presented. Simply because it's owned by a large restaurant group doesn't mean that attention is not paid to detail. Usually a fan of smaller chef-owned restaurants, this place always delivers. Looking forward to trying Barca..

Blue Water Grill is yummy. I think it's best for drinks and their amazing raw bar. For a full dinner, I've always preferred Aquagrill. I think the food is a little better and the place has a less corporate feel. Enjoy!
