My husband and I are trying to figure out where to take our toddler after we visit the Natural History Museum next weekend. Any thoughts on toddler friendly places in the vicinity?
Isabella (Columbus and 77th St) is good for families. The food is nothing out of the ordinary but it's good and the room is pleasant.
EJ's Luncheonette is family central on upper west side.
Try the cafe in the museum itself. It is quite good and is, of course, toddler friendly. A reliable external option is the Pizzeria Uno on 81st and Columbus.
Carmine's on Broadway (betw 90 & 91st) might work. It's a family-style, reasonable Italian restaurant. You might end up with a lot of food, as your are served large portions to share, but there's plenty of room and it's not too quiet.
