It would be great if there was a way to post Ottawa messages again, since Ottawa got lumped in with Toronto we no longer see any posts for Ottawa. I'm reasonably certain this message will not make it to the boards since chowhound doesn't seem interested in anything outside Toronto, but if it does than great.

Not quite about Ottawa, but it would be generally nice if Canada had its own section, in the same way that all the regional boards for the US are organized, rather than being lumped into the International section. With 4 boards going, it seems justified. I didn't even know there was a board for Western Canada for a while, because it's down at the bottom of the International listing, while the others are higher up.

The obvious solution is to give the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) its own forum. That would allow the rest of Ontario to use the Ontario forum and would make it easier to find posts about Ottawa (and other cities like Windsor and London) because they won't get buried by all the GTA posts.
This has been done with almost all the biggest cities in the States, and it works well.

I live in Ottawa and never use this site for Ottawa. I use the local site www.ottawafoodies.com which was mentioned earlier in the thread. I only come here for Home Cooking or when I plan to travel to places that generate more posts.

I have also pretty much given up. When there was an Ottawa specific board I use to check almost every day and would post quite often. This has been the first time I have looked in over a month. I now do an advanced search all the time, but there isn't much posted anymore.

I wholeheartedly agree, I have practically stopped checking this forum since it rarely has any Ottawa postings and every time I see one that sounds like something in Ottawa, it invariably is a Toronto thread. Suggestions for an Ottawa board have gone unanswered as well as the idea that the each post title have a reference to the city being referred to. Some posters do this (which is great if I don't want to bother reading about yet another Toronto resto) but most don't. The Ottawa posters do since it's the only way of letting readers know that there is a post about Ottawa. I've given up.

re: lula
Having lived in the fringers of the GTA, once upon a time, I can generally figure out which are TO posts. But it does remind me of the old light bulb joke:
"How many Torontoians does it take to change a light bulb?"
"One, he holds it up and lets the universe revolve around him."
