When I go to austin, I usally think of BBQ first (for me its Brisket and beef ribs sometimes goat). Unfortunately haven't been in over a year and I'm craving some real BBQ. Is it worth trying to find a BBQ that will ship or does it not travel well? Which place ships?

  1. I've never had it shipped to me, but here are three solid options for 'cue:

    http://www.coopersbbq.com/

    http://www.lulingcitymarket.com/

    http://www.kreuzmarket.com/index.shtml

Everyone has strong opinions about what's "the best." To see a range of opinion on these three places, just search the Texas board (and the Austin board now, too, though not everything may be archived yet).

    1. I can't say whether everyone ships it well, but I've had Salt Lick shipped to me and it was fantastic when it arrived, packed in dry ice. If you can get quality shipments from Kreuz and Cooper's as MPH points out, you're in like Flynn.

And thanks to MPH: I didn't know Cooper's and Kreuz shipped. Now that I do, I'll be getting much fatter presently.
