Kennedy's Irish Pub and Curry House [North Beach, San Francisco]

  • 7

I know reports are mixed, but I need to go there for beer. If I am going to eat, what should we order and what should we stay away from?

  1. My post on this place from about a year ago seems to have been lost. Chinese-owned Irish bar with Pakistani cooks, didn't get very far with questions about the menu. The menu's a mix of southern / Indian and northern / Pakistani dishes, nothing was very good but the southern stuff was worse. Fries were decent.

Good place for a beer, eat somewhere else.

i agree: the indian food was baddish, but the southern item was inedible [and this is
coming from somebody who eats 99cent burgers, so i'm not being a food snob].

i think the "mixed reports" reflects the "mixed" level of intoxication ... the northern stuff
would probably be ok at 1am after some drinking.

i'd think you'ld be better off getting a pizza slice somewhere in the area. there is an
in-n-out not too far away. burgermeister as well, but that probably closes earlier ...
i cannot imagine going to kennedy's before 11pm.

my two immediate candidates for worst indian food in the bay area are:
      kennedy's and naan&curry/telegraph ave-berkeley.

I agree the food is pretty poor in general, and I'll echo the previous comments, the south indian items are to be avoided.

A great beer selection though, with some pretty reasonable prices, especially if you can get there during their happy hour.

I've had good tandoori stuff at the Telegraph Naan 'n' Curry.

      2. I think their Vegetable Korma and lamb curry is good.

I thought their dosas were tasty. However, this was a little over a year ago, so maybe it's changed since.

          Service is definitely terrible though.

        2. I've been hearing more positive things about Indian Curry House in the last year and wonder if there's been a shift in the kitchen. And we have a solid rec for delivery from here,
