I haven't eaten here, only had some wings or nachos or some such junk at the really incredibly unremarkable Characters pub in the same hotel. But I can't imagine it's any better than a thousand faceless business-traveler-hotel restaurants serving three meals a day and room service: bland, middlebrow, expensive for what it is.
I've been stuck eating at so many places like this in my business travels that I try to avoid them unless I have absolutely no other options.
Then again, maybe it's a hidden gem! I just rather you'd take one for the team than me. I'm excusing myself from such "noble experiments" for two months, having dined at Vintage Restaurant in West Roxbury recently.
I don't have a specific recommendation, but I will vouch for the fact that some of their food is delicious. I went their for the buffet on Thanksgiving, and my friends and I all found it to be great. There was delicious fish, and the vegetables were impeccably done -- flavorful, but not overwrought. The desserts weren't exceptional, but everything else was tasty. The service was also average. At times the server was very attentive, but then it was like he just disappeared.
