Agree/disagree with the current Los Angeles magazine's restaurant awards?
There are some places I haven't been that won awards - I'd be interested to know if other chowhounds thought they were deserved.
I love the "Trends We Love/Hate" section!
I agree that Hatfield's is the best new restaurant I've been to in 2006...I'm never been to Republic (and don't plan on it) because I haven't anything good about it, except the cool wine fairy. I went to Minx last night (just for a drink) and it was a cool spcae...but an odd location. Spitz is great and I agree with all the wine bar tops - especially Bottlerock & Bin 8945.
I was surprised to see that CUT was listed as the runner-up for best restaurant, since they panned it in their review the month earlier. They even said on the magazine cover that "Wolfgang's new restaurant doesn't make the cut". Beyond that one though, their choices seemed about right.
