Romantic Saturday Lunch in Agoura- does it exist?

I'm wanting to surprise my husband by taking him to lunch tomorrow to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the day we met.

We're in the West SF Valley. I'm wondering if there are any cozy spots with great food for a romantic lunch in Agoura on a Saturday. I'd like to try something new.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I live in Oak Park/Agoura and I honestly can't think of any "romantic" places for food. You're better off packing a nice basket of cheeses, wine and snacks and having a nice picnic or heading toward Malibu or Santa Barbara.

Unless there's some reason you're limiting yourself to Agoura, there's some restaurants in Westlake that should work and there's the Saddle Peak Lodge in Calabasas. These suggestions are more for dinner, though. I'm not sure I've been to a restaurant that tried for a romantic atmosphere at lunch.

My immediate thought was Cafe 14 in Agoura. An alternative to consider is Riviera, 23683 Calabasas Rd, Calabasas. telephone 818-224-2163. The food at Riviera is fantastic. But the place is generally crowded, so call ahead for a reservation.

Cafe 14 is very nice but I'm not sure it's open for lunch. About the only romantic 'lunch' places I can think of would be at the beach, like Geoffrey's, but I'm not sure they're open for lunch either.

Not quite as far for you would be Inn of the 7th Ray in Topanga. However it's gotten some pretty nasty reviews for the food.

Somehow lunch just doesn't sound romantic to me.
