Persian or Armenian grocery store near Silver Lake

I'm looking for a grocery store where I can find ingredients for Persian cooking (pomegranate paste, cheap saffron, spices, candied orange peel, dried limes, lavash bread, etc).
I'm sure there are tons of Armenian stores in Glendale - anyone have a favorite?

I've been to Super King a few times now & love it. Great, cheap spices, fresh herbs, incredible deals on produce (not organic, of course). My only complaint is that their butcher section is surprisingly lacking (especially in variety of cuts of lamb).

I've seen all of the items you've listed at Super King off the 2 freeway, san fernando exit.

(pomegranate paste, cheap saffron, spices, candied orange peel, dried limes, lavash bread, etc).

Their spice selection is amazing as well as everything else in the store. Great quality, low prices--I love it.

I tried Jon's on Colorado in Glendale yesterday because I was in the neighborhood. It certainly covered all of the basics, especially lots of cheap fresh herbs.
I agree that Whole Food For Life (that name is hilarious) has a good bakery, but they are lacking in the more exotic stuff.

Whole Food For Life (formerly "Los Feliz Bakery") on Los Feliz Blvd between the 5 and Costco is Russian/Armenian. Their bread is fantastic, I think, but I don't know if they will have some of the more exotic items on your list. Super King (mentioned above) definitely will.

Sahag's Basturma in Hollywood has at least some of those ingredients, plus you get to have some basturma!

I used to live near "Pacific Food Mart" which is on the east side of Pacific just north of Glenoaks in Glendale (head north from the 134 on Pacific, whch is just e. of the San Fernando Rd. exit). It was one of these packed-to-the-gills little stores with a fresh food counter, and I'm sure it would have those items you mention.

Actually, I just Googled it and came up with this link that should help:

Kalinka is pretty good but even better, imho, is SIS just south on Hillhurst in the sam minimall as Tib Tub Siam and the Drawing Room. But for the OP, they are not Persian, so may not have the items you seek. Glendale has a the bigger concentration of Persian Armenians, whereas, Hollywood has the greater number of Soviet Armenians.

There is also a Jon's on Vermont just S of Hollywood Bl.

Additionally there is a small market in a mini mall on Hillhurst a few blocks N of Sunset/Hollywood (E side, possibly just N of Franklin?) whose name I cannot recall and which might be Russian (or not) but might have some of the things you're looking for.

That said, I'm sure there are plenty of suitable venues in Glendale.

                      Thanks for the ideas!
I'll try some of them out tomorrow.

Not a huge market but nice as can be is Kalinka on Hillhurst in Los Feliz. Also Silverlake adjacent are the Jon's Market at Hollywood Blvd. & Vermont and another on Santa Monica Blvd. a few blocks east of Western. Although, indeed Super King does have far and away the largest selection and excellent quality baked goods.

Food King or Super King or some sort of King on San Fernando Rd. east of the 2 Fwy is great. They ought to have everything you need. Other than that, I also like the Jon's market on Colorado Blvd. just east of Glendale Avenue.
