Fez--Windsor Terrace--another fine meal
This is my third post on the subject of Fez, the new Moroccan in Windsor Terrace (on PPW and 16th St.). I am not related in any way to the owner, so my enthusiasm is unrelated to any personal interest in her success. Suffice it to say, I continue to be impressed by the quality of her couscous, tagine, appeitzers and desserts. She is a hard-working chef/owner who has taken a risk by opening in a neighborhood not yet known for its restaurant choices. She has added some beautiful poster-sized photos of scenes from Morocco to the decor. The couscous and tagines are fresh (I am partial to the veggie couscous and the tilapia tagine. Ask for some harissa to stir into to give your meal some zing). The price is right: $10 buys you a large portion of couscous, the tilapia tagine is $15. Bring your own wine. Leave room for her desserts and a pot of mint tea. On each occasion I have eaten there, other diners included North African expats...a good sign, I presume.
