The Modern tonight

Hey Hounds,

Heading to the Modern for dinner. Since I haven't been in a couple of months, just wondering if there is anything new or notable to try?

I had the egg. It was great, with a piece of lobster, and some foamy broth. Delicious. ALso the tarte flambe, which is a must. Also the quail, which I really liked. All washed down with Corsendonk on draught, my new fav Balgian beer.

It's a very good place, and as with all Danny Meyer places (I include Keith McNally too), the welcome, the attitude, the service are all pitch perfect.

Last week I had something that was called -I think - egg in a jar. It was a poached egg in a jar over lobster and salsify. I know it is wierd but I really liked it. Its not new, but if you haven't had it yet - get the tarte flambee I can't get enough.
