This sounds like a fun book: "Sound Bites: Eating on Tour With Franz Ferdinand"

    Jim:
The author was interviewed this morning by Terry Gross on "Fresh Air."

He's articulate. When our rock stars only seem to be able to scream "Rock On" and make the devil's horns with their fingers, it's refreshing to find one who is articulate and literate. He and another band member worked a variety of jobs in kitchens before forming the group, including being chefs.
I just about screamed at the radio when he mentioned one of his most favorite places to visit was Schwartz's Deli in Montreal. I visited there in 1995 and it was fantastic.

Can we declare Alex Kapranos an honorary Chowhound?

Yes. I've got a few bucks coming in a discount from Border's. My local store is out of stock now but they are supposed to get more in by the end of the week.
