Lunch near the Flatiron

What are some great (preferably inexpensive) places to eat lunch around the Flatiron building?

    1. i dunno about inexpensive but beppe is on 22nd and park... the old town bar is on e 18th and park (i think) and it's kind of a run down pub but they actually have really good hot dogs... inexpensive definitely... those were my two favs when working in the area...

      1. Try Fleur de Sel (East 20th Street?) I believe they have a prixe-fix menu.

I second the motion for Fleur de Sel. The $25 pre-fixe lunch is a good deal, considering how fantastic the food is. (Of course, I can't resist getting wine too, so it ends up being a very expensive lunch after all.)

Also, in season, the Shake Shack in Madison Square Park in fun.

        2. If you want to go Asian, you can try Rickshaw Dumpling on 23rd St between 6th Ave & Broadway. If you happen to like chocolate, go for their chocolate dumplings. (I know it's more in the Chelsea area)

You can also try Eisenberg's Sandwich Shop on 5th Ave between 22 & 23 St.

+1 for Rickshaw (my favorites are the Duck and Thai Chicken). I'd pass on the chocolate dumplings (too runny inside; too chewy outside) but they're cheap so try them if you'd like.

          2. SAPA (24th btwn 5th & 6th) started serving lunch recently. Reasonably priced, interesting combo bento boxes:

Just be sure to call beforehand because they often rent out the space for TV/Film shoots during the day.
