Rehearsal Dinner Space in Charlottesville, VA?

My fiancee and I are getting married in Charlottesville, Virginia. We've got an amazing place for the wedding, but we're stymied on rehearsal dinner space. Almost everyone at the wedding will be from out of town, so we want a party-type space: something akin to the big room upstairs at an italian restaurant. Specifically, we're thinking about 90 people, and -- one other caveat -- we're hoping to keep things on the less expensive side.

any suggestions?

  1. You might try C and O. Interesting space--no idea if they close to do this or not. If Goochland is not too far away --the Fox Head Inn is outstanding.

    1. Starr Hill Music Hall and Brewery may be a good choice for you. The food is good - American cuisine - and the beer is awesome.

From their website ( they have an "art gallery" room which holds 100 people for a cocktail party and 60 for sit-down dinner. They also have the music hall upstairs which accommodates 120 for a sit-down dinner.

      1. there are few places for wedding rehearsal among them Bashirs ,website:
        first colony vineyard, oakridge estate,
i will check for others and will post them these are know are good

        1. C&O is great and has private space upstairs, but can be a little pricey. Starr Hill's art gallery is a good choice if available on your date. The upstairs is booked most Fridays and Saturdays with live music.

There's a great little Italian place just off the Downtown Mall called La Cucina. They will close for parties, and are reasonably priced. Great owners. Good food. There's another space that used to be an Italian restaurant that is now only open for parties - Northern Exposure, near UVA. And Shebeen Pub, a South African joint downtown, is very cool.
