Glassner succeeds with "Gospel"

More than anything, I thought this book was very readable...informative, without becoming too overly academic. I particularly enjoyed his discussion on obesity trends... any thoughts on this or the chowhounds mention??

I'm about halfway through it (just picked it up yesterday at the bookstore) so I haven't gotten to the part that phillyfoodfanatic talks about or the chowhound section, but I agree it is very interesting and well worth a read. Especially liked the chapter on how the food industry sells functional foods (so-called). Glassner says they are another form of supersizing!

Agreed...its refreshing to see someone actually BACKING UP his/her claims.
