The best Thai near Kingston Mines is probably TAC Quick or Thai Avenue. Also Siam Noodle on SHeridan. All reasonably cheap cab rides. You could also take an el-train fromt he Fullerton or Diversey stops that are not too far from K.Mines.
Otherwise, all those other places are non-authentic "Ameri-Thai".

This isn't in walking distance, but close to the brown line, switch to red to get to Kingston Mines.
Aroy Thai has quickly become one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Lake View.

From the above recommendations, I'd go with Hema's. The Curry Leaves place looks a little dingy from the outside..

About a two blocks north of Kingston Mines at 2660 N. Halsted is Raj Darbar. It's pretty good, though my favorite Indian places are up on Devon. Also, at 2411 N. Clark St, just north of Fullerton on the east side of the street, which is about 3-4 blocks from Kingston Mines, is Hema's. It is the second restaurant opened by Hema, whose other place is off Devon. And although I don't like it nearly as much as the original, it's always packed and people seem to like it. And just two storefronts north of there is another Indian place called Curry Leaves, but I've never been so I can't vouch for it.
PS Bangkok at 2521 N. Halsted, just south of Kingston mines, is decent, cheap Thai. Same goes for Noodles in the Pot at 2453 N. Halsted.
