Home meal delivery recs in Calgary needed

Hi Western CHs -A good friend in Cowtown just had a baby and I'd like to give them a week's worth of delicious home cooked meals. Delivered if possible. They like all types of food - they are fairly adventurous eaters - not really meat & potatoes types. I'm in TO so I have no idea about the local scene. Thanks in advance.

I hate SPUD. When I was a regular, I got sub-par veggies every week.

There was an excellent article on take-home meals in this months City Palate magazine.

I have heard excellent things about Spoonfed.

Judy Wood is cooking at Mise en Place, so it *must* be good.

Thanks for sharing your experience with SPUD, I was looking into them, but I wasn't so sure about the quality. Don't think I'll follow through with them.

I decided to go with the Liberated Cook b/c they would do a gift certificate and are close to where my friends live.

Thanks for all the opinions. I'll post a follow-up once I hear if they like it!

I've tried the Liberated cook once, but sampled four different dishes and all were good. I have not tried the Copper Pot.

Not so interested in resto food as I'd really like to get them something "home cooked" (If I wasn't in TO, I'd make them a week's worth of meals myself :-)).

Anyone out there tried Copper Pot or The Liberated Cook (a place that you can pick-up home cooked meals near Foothills)?

I'd really like to know what the food's like before I purchase this....

If your friend lives in the inner city (which I think they'd have to be for many of Waiters En Route's deliveries), you may want to check out Spoon Fed Soups; http://www.spoonfedsoup.com/

Small Potatoes Urban Delivery (www.spud.ca) does more organic groceries, but they do include a few pre-prepared meals, as well. http://www.spud.ca

Personally can't recommend any of these (if I'm at home, I'm cookin') but a friend has used SPUD and, I think, Copper Pot with good results.

They deliver from various restaurants around town. I've ordered from them a few times and have never had a problem.
