Looking to take my wife out for a romantic dinner in Port Washington on a Saturday night. Any suggestions? Looking for something well prepared but not stuffy.

The Port Hotel is the place to go. Great steaks, seafood, etc., in a lovely setting. I used to live in Mequon WI, and my wife and family would visit often. If you want something cheaper, try the Newport Shores on the lake. They are known for seafood, but their burger is one of the best in the state. Plus they are right on the lake and have a pretty view. Walk out on the pier for me.

In 1968 I enjoyed Smith Brothers, mainly seafood and as I recall a bit scenic on the harbor.

Hopefully, a local here can respond. If not, check out the dining guide of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel at http://www.onwisconsin.com/dining Click on "Where - Ozaukee County" and "Dining Guide", and you'll see reviews for 50+ places, some of which are in Port Washington.
