I am looking for a glass or stoneware type pan to roast sauerkraut in. Does anyone have any recommendations?

If you google "Lena's Homemade Sauerkraut," you'll find a great recipe with detailed instructions.

If you are talking about for oven use, Pyrex or Corning Ware are equally as good but remember to reduce oven temps to 325 degrees and watch for evaporation.

Now choosing the size if not getting a set is a different thing. You will need a broad, perhaps a cake size if adding something like long or rope sausage to the kraut. Casserole type/size for baking just the kraut is otherwise fine.

I am not a huge fan of crock pots, but making sauerkraut is probably the best use of those devices. I tend to use either a crock pot or a dutch oven for this dish.

Thank you! But, my fault, I thought there was actually a way to make kraut itself in the crockpot. It got me thinking that the crockpot pot might be a better tub in which to make kraut.
