Cantonese food in San Jose area

I am re-posting my earlier request with a clarification that I am looking for best places to find Cantonese food in the San Jose vicinity. Has anyone had any recent good experiences that they would be willing to share? I haven't eaten Cantonese in SJ in a couple of years. Thanks.

  1. Cupertino or Sunnyvale to the north okay?

If Sunnyvale, then Hong Kong Saigon Seafood Harbor is above average for dinner. I liked lunch there better.

Maybe others can comment on the dinner menu at Pan Tao in Sunnyvale, as i've only been there for dim sum lunch.

Recent input on Joy Luck Place or Canton Delights in Cupertino?

    1. For dinner, I'm a fan of Hong Kong restaurant, on El Camino Real in Palo Alto (near San Antonio). It's attached to a motel. Live seafood in tanks, secret menu on the wall. The waiter may recommend that you try the salt-pepper eggplant, in which case you should do so.

I love that salt and pepper preparation and thought I had tried everything s and p. Have had pork ribs, chicken wings, calamari, crab and shrimp done that way but never eggplant. Yum! A new place to try and a new way to enjoy s-p! Thank you.

      2. In San Jose itself, a nice Vietnamese style Cantonese restaurant is Bo Town Seafood, 409 S. Second St., in that little Vietnamese Chinatown adjacent to downtown. Also there are some Cantonese seafood places on a mile stretch of Monterey Road--Ocean Delight, Ocean Palace and Grand Fortune, I believe--that are pretty good.
