Galley Girl's Pear Cake question

Ready to make the cake for New Years Eve and my pears are not that juicy or ripe ... BUT ... I have some very ripe bananas.
Any thoughts on adding bananas? Sliced? Mixed in with the batter? Will I need to alter any of the ingredient amounts?
