From someone who has lived in Pasadena her whole life, you don't want to try to find a restaurant on New Year's Eve or go anywhere near the parade route. I would try La Canada, Montrose or Monrovia.

a lot of restaurants (like the yardhouse) dont take reservations, its first come first serve, so get there early
