NYE Appetizer with endive

I think I read a suggestion on this board for a nice appetizer with endive. I think it was smoked salmon, red onion and creme fraiche blended (in a food processor) and piped onto endive leaves. Am I imaginging this? If not, am I missing any ingredients? If so, does this sound like a good mix, and would you add anything else to it?

  1. What about making a pear compote (seckel comes to mind), without adding very much sugar and the juice of one lemon. Once cooled completely, serve the endive leaves with this compote, a bit of blue cheese (roquefort is the classic) and a drizzle of honey.

    1. Thank you for the suggestion. I'll tuck it away for another occasion. For tonight, since I have the salmon, creme fraiche, etc at home, I'm really hoping someone can give me input on the appetizer I have in mind. Unfortuately, since I'm a vegetarian, I won't be able to taste the mix myself.
