Ferrovia - Bayview north of Steeles

dial Dec 30, 2006 02:46 AM

Decent Italian/bistro in Thornhill for all those looking for decent restaurants north of 401. Have been couple of times. This week, the lamb shank ($21.95) was very good as was the veal tenderloin w mushrooms. The steamed mussel appetizer was disappointing - good tatse but the mussels were not the freshest. Bread was so-so and accompanying hummus was decent. Reasonable wine prices. Good service.

When you say not Italian, do you mean pizza? or Ferrovia?

There is a restaurant at Markham rd and 14th Ave with the same name. Is it a chain? I found the food at the Markham location okay. The bruschetta was great, the pasta was good (but I think needs improvement). Have not tried the pizza yet.
