Tiburon

Where should we take friends from MA for casual but great dinner after a hike on Angel Island?

Here's a run down on Tiburon restaurants

Rooney's has the best food, but no view, can be very noisey. Local's love it.

Sam's has the history and the outdoor deck. Everybody loves it.

Guaymas is a chain, ok mexican food on waterfront. A few margaritas, and plates of appetizers is a good afternoon.

Servino's is lovely place to be, has a limited water view from the restaurant, more expansive in the private party room, inconsistent food, but the salads are usually good, the pizza from woodburning ovens fantastic, pasta ok,sometimes great, fish iffy.

Swedish Bakery small outdoor deck, new chef, recently opened for dinner. Used to be mediocre breakfast, but a Town institution anyway

Caprice fantastic views, pricey food, but a new chef and menu that looks promising, very very noisy when crowded.

In the old arks by the movie theatre, there is a newish Thai restaurant. Home cooking but decent.

Have you tried dinner at Swedish Bakery since the new chef came in?

Oh my God, is Caprice still there? Last time I ate there was 1972! It was good then....

leave Tiburon and take them to Mill Valley to Small Shed Flatbreads for the best Pizza in the bay area or to Sausalito to Fish at Gate 5 on a Sunny day, can't beat it.

          Galye,

I heard some good things about Fish in Sausalito. What do you like there? Could you tell me a bit more about it.

When I asked the person who recommended it highly what was good, he just said "everything".

They serve fresh fresh fish, grilled delicately and perfectly in sandwiches, salads, and as entrees. Only various shellfish. Cash only, I believe, not as pricey as you might expect, given recent prices for fish. decent seating only if weather permits use of outside, lines form if not. Take out possible.
