Lucia Restaurant Winchester - Pleasant Surprise
Hit Lucia's with a buddy of mine. Really pleasantly surprised.
House salad was excellent. Nice dressing.
I had the lasagna which was better then I expected. Delicate, house-made noodles with just the right amounts of meat, cheese, and sauce
My buddy had a very tasty rendition of chicken marsala. The sauce from the marsala was so good we sopped it all up with bread.
Not cucina magnifica Italian, but surprisingly very good. Would definitely hit the place again.

I know it's an old thread, went the other night, had a good selection off the entrée menu and ordered almost all of their desserts. The entree's were barely average, little things just weren't executed well such as the pasta dishes which came out with tastless maranara sauce just ladled on top and not cooked in to the pasta. Plain old common button mushrooms on the veal, the veal was a bit gummy tasting probably coated with flour and let to sit instead of putting directly into a hot pan, prosciutto baked to a crisp on top of the veal. Hazelnut cake dry as a bone, tiramisu with no lady fingers and overly sweet whipping cream, a passable lemoncello cake was the star in the dessert category. The best part of the meal was the bread, nice crisp crust. Service was stellar but, for the restaurant being half empty, it was very noisy. Thank goodness the entree's were priced in the low to mid twenties, so it wasn't too expensive. I'd go back again for another whirl just based on the service and hope the entree's would be better.
Lucia is a great local North-of-Boston spot. Very fresh ingredients, very traditional recipes, great portions, and decent ambiance. It's related to the North End restaurant of the same name, which is on Hanover Street across from the fire station (I've never been to the North End edition.) Cucina delcious is a good way to describe it.
