Need a Side for Ham Loaves

I will be serving ham loaves in a few weeks and need some ideas for sides. The ham loaves are made with ground ham, ground beef, grahm cracker crumbs, eggs, and milk. A tangy sweet sauce of tomatoes, vinegar, and brown sugar go over them. I'm thinking of doing roasted green beans and shallots but would like to serve another side. Any ideas? I usually do rice but want something a little nicer.

Also if anyone has a REAL simple recipe for roasted green beans and shallots I'd be interested.

  1. How about pineapple stuffing? Super easy and everyone seems to love it. I don't have a recipe handy, but I'm sure you can google it. Just one suggestion...leave out the sugar! Pineapple is sweet enough on its own.

    1. mac and cheese. if you don't know how to make it like me, you can buy the Whole foods version.
      roasted potatoes with herbs.
      mashed potatoes
sauteed shitake or portobello mushrooms in butter w/herbs

the ham loaf sounds good, but i would serve that with a salty dish and avoid another dish w/sweet and/or sour components.
