Winter recs for LA hound-ambience and good food!

Tired of the sun in LA :)
Looking for some "warm" and cozy winter restaurants that make you want to snuggle up with a hot toddy. Fireplaces, farm-rustic, small and intimate. Also, tips for hot chocolate, fireside lounges greatly appreciated. I'm staying near Grand Central but will explore the city.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

Comfy, cozy, saw dust on the floor and roaring fire place at Molly's Shebeen.

Public has a fireplace in their back lounge-you could have a drink there (the food's not bad, but it's nothing special):

WD-50, while quite modern in every way, has a fireplace and is, to me, quite a cozy spot, and one of the more interesting places you could eat:

Not sure if they have fireplaces (probably not), but Mas and Blue Hill come to mind.
