      <content>depending on whether you are serving these at the table or folks are supposed to walk around with them ...

spanish tortilla with a red pepper coulis or even a mole sauce would be lovely. most tortillas are served room temp. the sauce would brighten it up.

Caramelized onion and olive tart with puff pastry. For something richer, mix the caramelized onion with fresh thyme and creme fraiche and replace the olives with bacon for something like an Alsatian tart.

You can make muhamarra&#8212;a walnut pomegranate dip and serve with romaine heart, belgian endive, sliced fennel bulb, etc for something lighter and out of the ordinary.</content>

      <content>Goat Cheese and Figs....

idea one:  big log of goat cheese slathered in fig preserves wtih crackers (I do this alot and it is always a hit)
or
idea two: a dolop of goat cheese stuffed inside a fresh fig then either a) drizzled with honey or b) wrapped with proscuitto.  I might do this for the NewYearsEve party I am going to.

From where I sit in Chicagoland anything on a boat in Miami sounds good to me!

      <content>if you have a day to prepare....

soak sun dried tomatoes in warm water til soft.  drain water and add chopped garlic, salt and olive oil.  let sit in a jar overnight.

next day slice italian bread, top with a slice of fresh mozzerella, a fresh basil leaf and a marinated sun dried tomato with a bit of the marinating oil.</content>
