SO is moving to school in Rockland, Maine, the "Gateway to the Penobscot Bay." Looking for affordable, FUN places to eat in Rockland/Camden area, and would love any suggestions for interesting, local food... whatever you've got. Thanks!
cafe miranda--casual,family run friendly place .extensive, different menu.large portions, good value for money.my local fav!
When the lobster shack season starts again, try Waterman's Beach. Drive out to the Owls Head Transportation Museum and look for signs. It has expanded since we first went. You now have the option (our choice) of sitting at a picnic table next to the water or a table on a covered porch in the rear. Order at the window. The menu is basically steamed lobster or lobster rolls and pie so leave room for a slice of rhubarb pie. There's some great lobster in the rough places in mid-coast Maine but I think Waterman's wins out for the great view and quiet setting.
I recommend the wine bar, In Good Company, on Main Street in downtown Rockland. Great food, great wine, great atmosphere.
