mini tollhouse pies - baking time?
Hello, I've had some great success and fun changing up the standard tollhouse pie recipe. Now, I want to bake them as individual tarts in mini muffin pans. The full-size baking time is 1 hr - and that's what it takes, regardless of the fact that it "looks" done about 30 minutes in. Any educated guesses as to how long I would bake in the mini muffin tins?
Maybe 40 minutes? Or at 40 minutes, push the center and see how gummy it still feels. I think the large pie looks done but if you were to push the center, your finger would sink like on a waterbed, for lack of a better analogy.
I make tollhouse tarts in mini-muffin tins--cooking time is 15 - 17 minutes for the recipe I use. Once the tarts have cooled a bit, put the tin into the freezer for a while--makes it much easier to remove the tarts from the tin.
Thank you for the suggestions! They took about 30 min at 325, came right out of the tins (I had greased and floured). These will be great as they're so rich.
