Tacos Baja Ensenada and a Jealous SF Chowhound

My BF and I were visiting in LA this weekend, and had pretty good fish tacos in Silverlake in a little stand on Sunset Blvd. So thrilled to have good Mexican overall, and fish tacos, we decided to have fish tacos again the next day, our last day in LA. After a quick Chowhound search, we learned of Tacos Baja Ensenada, and the drive on a couple freeways was so worth it!

Wonderful, wonderful. We both had the #1 combo with 2 fish tacos, and I tried a ceviche tostada. The tacos are delicious, such crispy coating, and just enough cabbage. I love the red sauce they add-- I've never had it made like that. When I saw the rice, I was a little apprehensive in it's lacking a red color which I expected. To my suprise, it's tasty! Delicious tostada, generous on the fish. It was too much for me to finish with the combo. Next time, I will skip the combo and have more tacos.

I brought some home to my family, and even cold, they were delighted asking for info on this place.

A highlight of our trip, and I look forward to returning!! Maybe they'll come to SF one day.

Was the Silverlake location, by any chance, Tacos Delta?

Yes, I'm pretty sure it was Tacos Delta. It had a patio in the back, pretty big selection for a stand. The fish tacos had lettuce and sour cream vs. cabbage and crema. My boyfriend had the fish burrito and he was happy with it. Inspired our search for more.

Actually, that sounds more like "Siete Mares". North or south side of Sunset? North would be "Siete", south would be "Delta". . . .

Thanks for reporting on your taco adventure, it is always nice when 'hounds from other locales give us their take on what we take for granted.
