Has anybody ever had Cascon Cheesecake in Whitestone queens? It is the best cheesecake you will ever find and is a hidden gem. The place is a family owned old world Italian masterpiece and the cakes are baked with the same passion that makes Ferrari the best sports cars in the world. Yes Juniors has all the fame mass appeal but Cascon bakes the best Cheesecake. This bakery in Whitestone makes cheesecake the right way, no crust and thick and moist. Everything is made with love. It is an absolute must try if you like cheesecake.

Around the world when they say NY cheesecake they are refering to Cascon. It is truly a legend , same location for 31 years and the finest in cheesecake. It can not and will not be topped. Make the pilgramidge, you will not be dissapointed.

I used to work out in Auburndale and my boss would get these - they were fantastic. However, I always thought she was saying Gascogne, and I thought it was a French bakery. Haven't thought about these in nearly a decade - thanks for the reminder!

It is without question the best cheesecake I've ever had. The Spouse grew up in Whitestone and had the amazing privilege of eating these while growing up. I don't understand how they can perform such magic with so few ingredients.

We still 2nd Day Air these down to NC to give as holiday presents to valued clients. They are very eagerly awaited. A three-pound cake plus the cost of air shipping is still much less expensive than a few pounds of so-called cheesecake from that large, unspeakable chain factory.

Yeah, haven't had them in years, my mom used to bring them home. They always struck me as the perfect NY cheesecake. They freeze (froze?) extremely well, too.

Assuming you mean is it cream cheese or ricotta. It is beautifully dense cream cheese with little else besides cream, vanilla, eggs and sugar added.

The Spouse and I both remember only NY style. We've only done mail-order the last few years, though, so it could be something new. If Cascon makes it, it's probably good, though.

FYI, they also do sugar-free cheesecakes. They're not bad tasting if you or a family member is diabetic.

Thanks to the OP samyn for telling us about this place! I am often in the Bayside/Whitestone area so tonite I picked up a chocolate swirl New York style and an Italian style, made with ricotta.

The Italian was very lightly sweetened and fluffy, aromatic, cheesey, with a crust. Maybe not the best example I have had of the style, but fabulous nonetheless.

Now the New York style, this was sublime. I have never had better. Such a rich, dense cake but somehow not heavy...and NOT too sweet. The chocolate swirl is just in a thin layer on top, the bulk of the cake is solid plain crustless cheesecake. I see no reason to get New York cheesecake anywhere else.

My dad used to drive out to Whitestone from Great Neck just to get their cheesecake. You sure they haven't been at that location for more than 31 years? I remember him going to Whitestone like 40+ years ago to get cheesecake.
