OK Chowhounders...Need a Place in Forest Hills, Help needed

Hi, I'm looking for a place to meet a friend for a laid back lunch kind of thing....maybe for not too much food even, good coffee and atmosphere in the middle of the day, maybe like 2pm or so (not liking the time, but..). If this was at night I'd have no problem finding a place, but in the daytime is rough....any ideas? Metropolitan Ave. is fine too....

If you're not looking for food, any of the 3 Starbucks sounds fine.

Or the previously recommended DB Bistro/Wine Bar.

Piu Bello (on the corner of the street with the strip mall) has really good coffee, great desserts and decent gelato. For lunch they have decent sandwiches/wraps and a really good meze platter. It's a great cafe to linger in at weird hours.

Haven't been but DB Bistro/Wine Bar is getting buzz as one of the best places in FH (104-02 Metropolitan, where Dee's used to be):

Cabana is mellow for late lunch, and relaxed and quiet in the day--The lunch special at Corfu is really good and cheap at $5.50 but the atmosphere isn't exactly the kind you want to linger long in--but you could get a Greek Frappe, and good chow--lunch special goes to 4pm...Nick's is great, but you can't linger there forever..but it's certainly great pizza, good cannoli's, good cappucino, and decent brownie dessert...laid back atmosphere....Used to like Network cafe which has a bar atmosphere, but quiet and mellow on 72nd ave...not sure how their food is these days...but it's a cool little spot---also, 5 Burro Cafe in the day is very mellow, and their food is pretty good..but their chairs not so comfortable for long stays..........As far as the Thai places, people seem to like Bann Thai down near the Police Station, nice atmosphere, the other Thai place is downstairs in the same strip mall as Corfu--not as nice as an atmosphere..and frankly, I go to Srip for Thai, so I can't speak about their food......there is also the New Thai place that opened a few doors from Rouge....which by the way, is supposed to have a good burger................

Okay...other than that--your best bet might be the Metro Cafe on Metropolitan.....or Dee's.......

          Good Luck
