Fabulous and Fancy (for lunch) in Glendale/burbank?

Clare K Dec 26, 2006 04:34 PM

Need a fabulous and fancy resto in the Glendale/Burbank area for a company lunch. Besides Morton's and French 75, does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
CK

Thanks for all the suggestions. It looks like we're going to the City Club at Bunker Hill in downtown (I know, they changed the city on me!). Will report back since I see little about that place on 'hounds...

McCormick & Schmick's just opened up in the old Dalt's space on Olive. They may be able to accomodate you.

        Go to the Smoke House.

Oh no, just a small private room would suffice.

            For how many people?
Sometimes you can rent an entire restaurant for lunch, such as Bistro Provence on Pass in the Vons center.
Likewise, Phoenicia(formerly Kix)on Central in Glendale seats around 60 or so, plus patio(weather permitting) and while it has a Lebanese-focused menu, Ara can cook any kind of food if you sweet-talk him into it.

If there is no time limit involved, there is a great restaurant on the hill called The Castaway, http://www.castawayrestaurant.com/. It has a view of all Burbank. Great service and food too.

Can't beat the view but the food's totally forgettable.

My suggestion would be Carousel, Mandaloun or even the Smokehouse over Castaways. Or even the Granville, though it's an order-at-the-counter experience.

While you may be departing our hood soon enough, Mandaloun is getting ready to go into its 3rd ownership since opening. Phoenicia on Central is owned by the first owner who is a great chef. Want to determine if they have a website to peruse. May stop in today, in fact.
