Does anyone know of an Indonesian restaurant in the Chicago area? I have found some Indonesian dishes but not whole restaurants.

  1. Penang in Chinatown is probably your best bet. Chicago has a dearth of Indonesian/Malaysian restaurants and this question comes up fairly often. Supposedly, a good option is to contact the Indonesian consulate for info on caterers.

    1. August Moon is the only Indonesian restaurant I have heard of in Chicago. Pretty good!

      1. Penang is Malaysian and Chinese, and August Moon closed years ago. The closest Indonesian restaurant is in Madison, WI. Do you hear that, Indonesian people who can cook? We need your outstanding cuisine in Chicago!
