Christmas Day Dinner on the Peninsula?

  • 2

Sorry if this is a repeat question, but I searched the archives and didn't really find a good answer.

I'm looking for a recommendation for a Christmas Day dinner on the Peninsula (San Mateo is ideal, but anywhere from Burlingame to Palo Alto would be OK). This would be for a group of 5, including one well-behaved 2 year old. Ideally we are looking for a nice, traditional American restaurant, somewhere serving things like turkey, ham, etc.

I checked opentable.com, and the only restaurants that appear to be open tomorrow are Bogies and Spiedo, which are not my first choices in terms of type of food.

Thanks in advance for any help. Our family moved here from the east coast less than a month ago, and we are just not familiar enough with the area yet to make a good choice on our own, so any good advice would be greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays!

  1. The only thing I can think of is Quatro in the Four Seasons Hotel in Palo Alto ... but I've never tried it.

Christmas is tough. A lot of restaurants open on Thanksgiving are closed on Christmas. Other than those mentioned it would probably be just Chinese restaurants ... maybe a ride to SF for more choices?

    1. We're going to the buffet at the Crown Plaza in Foster City tomrrow - yesterday they had a limited number of ressies left.
