Hayes Valley is turning into quite the chow destination. I just heard today that Anne Gingrass is opening a Peruvian(ish) restaurant going into the space where Pendragon bakery was, open for lunch and dinner.

Good find. I wandered around the neighborhood today and learned from the salesperson at Timbuktu that La Boulange will open next door, on the NW corner of Octavia and Hayes.

Also, Citizen Cake will be closing early next year for an expansion. Their baking operation will move to the site of their new restaurant, Orson, at 4th and Bryant, next to Hotel Utah, which will feature wood-oven pizzas and a chocolate sommelier. (I'm quoting directly, so don't ask me whether the sommelier will be doing hot chocolate, solid desserts, chocolate pizzas, or something else.) When Citizen Cake reopens, the bar and dining areas will be expanded, and the traffic flow for the line for take-out pastries will be separate from the main restaurant.
